Dr. Pansze received his medical degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine on a Naval Health Professions Scholarship.  Upon the completion of his pathology residency, also at the University of Vermont, Dr. Pansze worked at the Naval Hospital at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton as a Lieutenant Commander in the Navy.

He served for three years at Camp Pendleton, which is located in San Diego County, California, as a pathologist and was also the medical director of several small military laboratories throughout California.

Dr. Pansze is board-certified in both anatomic and clinical pathology and is a member of the College of American Pathologists (CAP).

After his service in the Navy, he transitioned to civilian life at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Durango, Colorado.  This is where Dr. Pansze worked for nearly two decades, serving in numerous leadership capacities while carrying the responsibility of Laboratory Medical Director.  He also served on the institution’s Peer Review Committee, chaired the Education Committee, and concurrently worked as a lead inspector for the College of American Pathologists (CAP) Lab Accreditation Program.

Throughout his professional career, improving patient outcomes has always been at the forefront of Dr. Pansze’s pathology practice.  To this end, he became a founding board member of Path of Logic, a non-profit organization that focuses on pathology education, laboratory procedures, information systems, and diagnostic technologies in Uganda, East Africa.  Path of Logic has been successful in implementing information systems and practice techniques in Uganda. These efforts have dramatically reduced the diagnostic turn-around times for many diseases, including breast cancer, where earlier diagnosis affects treatment protocols and increases life expectancy.  Dr. Pansze continues to serve the Path of Logic organization as an advisor.

Dr. Pansze is thrilled to be a part of Pathology Associates of Idaho Falls, where he appreciates the collaborative approach and uses his unique experience and esteemed aptitudes to contribute to the high standard of pathology maintained by the group.  He enjoys the variety of diagnostic work in the area of general pathology, with an added passion for dermatopathology.

Trent and his wife raised their three children in Durango, Colorado.  Practicing in Idaho Falls allows him to be closer to family, as his brother is raising a young family in the area, and his daughter and cousins also live in the region.  He and his wife like to travel, ski in the winter, and hike, bike, and fish in the summer.  They also spend as much time as possible following their bird dogs throughout the beautiful surroundings of Southeast Idaho.
